Punk Slime Recordings are proud to present it’s latest signing – the Umeå based punks in Spice Boys. The band – Adam Forsberg, Jesper Lindkivst, Emil Uppenberg and Sebastian Holmlund – have only been around for 6 months but have already established themselves as the most exciting new band in Umeå. The band came together after Holmlund came up with the name and decided it was too good to not have a band for it, with all members having played in other bands before.
With a no-nonsense approach and no clear set of influences in regard to sound and aesthetics the band starting writing what would become their debut debut EP Spice City, and within a month they’d both finished writing and recording it. Fuelled by broken hearts, unemployment and a love of garage rock it's an impressive debut that doesn’t sound like anything the band could have imagined beforehand – the closest the band can describe it is as the feeling of a guy who has a spice psychosis while listening the great garage rock.
Spice City was recorded during a one night drunken session in Erik Karlsson of Chicagojazzen’s studio in Umeå and is set to be released on April 22 via PNKSLM Recordings, with lead single "It's Coming" serving as an introduction to Sweden’s most exciting new garage punk act.
